WATER FOR YOUR LIVER

It is often overlooked, just how important consuming the right amount of water is for your body. Sometimes it's good to drink a glass of water just to surprise your liver. Your liver is put under so much pressure daily, so why not show it some love?

Your liver is responsible for breaking down of toxins and filtration of substances from blood. Without the liver, the body would not be able to efficiently function. Water, especially in its purest form, helps the liver move toxins through its cellular systems and speed them on their way out of your body. It is always recommended to drink 3 liters of water per day, the equivalent of 12 full glasses. The positive effects are greater when it is done in intervals; upon awakening, in between meals, early evening. However, when other natural substances are added to the water, the health benefits to the liver are increased significantly.

Lemon and Water

Lemon has been proven to be filled with essential vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, regulate and sustain pH levels and ensure smooth digestive system functions. Anti-inflammatory properties are most important when fighting various diseases and illnesses and are very prominent in lemons. To get the best results, add half a lemon to a cup of warm water and consume on an empty stomach, the first thing in mornings.

Raisins and Water

Raisins are probably one of the most underrated foods when it comes to health benefits. Raisins promote weight loss, build your immune system, improve vision and are good for your bones. When it comes to your liver, raisins are rich in bioflavonoids which are important when purifying blood and detoxifying the liver. To reap the full rewards of the raisins, soak the raisins overnight in water. The raisins can be digested first thing on mornings and the water warmed and gulped down.

When it comes to healthy liver functions, water will always reign supreme. Supporting the removal of unwanted substances is a vital function and cannot be underplayed. Look out for part two of this article for more recipes and additions to your water.
