It's the August holidays and school children are at home eager for some kind of wholesome activity. Veteran, award-winning thespians Penelope Spencer and Cecilia Salazar are offering just what the doctor ordered.
Camp Tippi Tambo is an August vacation Camp being run by Penelope and Cecilia. This camp focuses on Trinbago culture and people. Said Penelope: "We talking and celebrating OUR Carnival, our folk, our festivals and our heroes.
The names of some of our classes are 'WAZ DE SCENE' (a virtual tour of the sites of Trinbago); 'TOOTOOLBEY', (favourite local beaches, food, flower etc); and, 'MOUTOPEN TORRY JUMP OUT' (Our celebrity visitors speak) to name a few."
At Camp Tippi Tambo children can learn about drama, dance and some music, all in a fun and exciting way.
Classes begin July 26 to August 20 at Camp Tippi Tambo and will cater for children aged six to 17 years. The classes are on ZOOM for children aged nine to 12 years, at 9 am to 12 noon. For teenagers, aged 13 to 17 years, classes will be streamed between 1 pm to 3.30 pm.
The cost to attend Camp Tippi Tambo is $300 a week, or $800 for the month.
Children from the USA and Canada are also invited to participate, and payment arrangement can be made.
